I’m Amanda, also known as ‘The Salford Chocolatier’. After a rewarding 30-year career in the Royal Air Force, I decided to turn my passion and love for making chocolates into a bespoke artisan business. I've been crafting chocolates since 2018, starting with treats for family and friends. I started the Salford Chocolatier with the mission of creating the most delicious, unique, luxury chocolates that highlight Salford as a leading artisan city.
I’ve had the privilege to train with some of the most respected chocolatiers in the industry, including Karl-Olof Alf Lund Jungstedt and Gary Hunter of Hunter's Chocolates. Gary quickly became my most trusted mentor and has inspired me to bring my dream to life. Additionally, I honed my skills under the guidance of Luis Amado, attending his Masterclass courses to perfect the decadent artistry of chocolate making.
In creating my collections, I use coloured cocoa butter for the artwork and couverture chocolate from renowned brands like Valrhona and Callebaut. I love working with single-origin chocolate such as Sao Thome and Alto El Sol from Peru. My creations include a variety of dark, milk, white, and gold caramel chocolates. The fillings are inspired by my travels around the world and local produce, including honey from Tom at Hive and Honey in Lancashire.
